How we work

A plan you argue with before you agree to it.

Every journey on this site is a starting point. Here is what happens once you get in touch, and exactly what a private journey does and does not cover.

You tell us roughly what you want

Dates, how long you have, the places you have already read about. If you only know the month and that you would like to see tea country, that is enough to start.

We come back with questions first

Usually about pace. How much driving you are willing to do in a day changes a route more than anything else, so we would rather ask than guess.

Then a route, and then another

You get a suggested itinerary to react to. Most people change it at least once. Nothing is booked until the plan and the written quotation both suit you.

What you are paying for

The same things are included on every journey.

Individual itineraries add to this list. Nothing is quietly removed from it.

Included

  • Private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced English-speaking driver-guide
  • Carefully selected accommodation (3–4 star or boutique)
  • Daily breakfast and all transfers as per itinerary
  • 24/7 local support throughout your journey
  • Airport pickup and drop-off
  • All applicable government taxes

Not included

  • International flights and travel insurance
  • Visa fees (ETA can be applied online)
  • Entrance fees to national parks, temples, and heritage sites
  • Meals and beverages not mentioned in the itinerary
  • Personal expenses, tips, and porterage
  • Optional activities not listed in the itinerary

Being straight with you

Three things we will not do.

We are a small operation. Being clear about the limits is easier than explaining them later.

  • Publish a review we cannot stand behind

    There are no guest quotes anywhere on this site yet. When we have written permission to publish real feedback, it will go up with the traveller’s name and the journey they took.

  • Put a price on a trip we have not scoped

    Costs move with your dates, your group and the standard of accommodation you want. You get a written quotation once we know those, and not before.

  • Ask for payment details through this website

    The enquiry form collects contact details and trip preferences only. There is no card field on this site, and there never will be.
